O QUANTO AINDA TE AMO

E se me condenaste à tristeza eterna,
Se na escuridão do sempre me encerraste,
Se em tua sombra hei de viver na fraterna
Comunhão de que tanto me falaste,
Se por tua mão eu conheci o universo,
Se encerrei minha vida no verso
Que tentei te ofertar, e que não aceitaste,
Se em júbilo se transformou tudo o que tocaste,
Se enfim, a realidade se reduziu a uma lembrança tua,
Se quando ando pela solidão de uma deserta rua
Vejo-te refletida em cada vitrina
Em cada luz, em cada passarela, em cada divina
Estrela que bilha no céu,
No vento que segue apressadamente, ao léu, 
E se é assim que viverei, como eterno condenado,
Então que sopre meu último suspiro,
Que se apaguem as luzes e que caia o pano
Porque tudo em minha vida me lembra o quanto ainda te amo...

If I you imprison me in the darkness of the eternity
If in your shadow I shall live ever in tomorrow,
In the brotherly communion that you often told me,
If on your hand I knew the universe,
If I ended my life in the verse
That I tried to give you, and you do not accept it,
If in jubilation turned everything you touched,
If finally, reality reduced itself to a memory  my beloved,
If when I walk by the solitude of a deserted street
I see you reflected in every shop window, wonderful and complete
I see you In every light, in every divine
Star that shine in heaven,
In the wind that flows quickly, worried and cloven,,
And if that is how I will live as eternal sentenced condemned to construe
Then It blows my last breath, hush my calls
Turns off the lights and the curtain falls
Because everything in my life reminds me of how much I still love you ...
